These videos are great! I just finished watching the first lesson, very good. I like the way you describe all the chords. I’m very new to jazz guitar. I know a little bit about making bar chords but that’s it. I’m very excited and anxious to learn jazz guitar. Smooth Jazz guitar is my all time favorite music!! I’m really excited too ’cause I bought my dream guitar, a ’94 mint cond. Herb Ellis five days ago. I have no excuses now, gotta keep practicing. I know your lessons will help. Thank you!

Hi – when you get a sec check out part one of this lesson where I go over the basis for the 2-5-1 progression and some variations as well as I throw in some music theory and chords in the key – check that one out and stay tuned for part three coming soon – lots of good info in the Ebook also
    rock on!

VERY interesting… A nice demo of how good these ‘complicated chords’ can sound – will there be a lesson on the principles behind their use? Or is that in the ebook?

This is a very good lesson, interesting chords and if we can put some lead over it even better.
    Thanks

great lesson! it might be more useful to have the vi be a VI7. Make it not all diatonic to force you to tonicize the ii. Might also be good to talk about common tones or lines you can create between the chords which might influence which extensions or alterations you play. also as someone else said – tritone subs!
