    you don’t play up and down with any one finger. Always down with the thumb and up with the index ( on two strings ) & down with the thumb and up index, down thumb, up forefinger, down thumb, up index ( alternately – on three strings )…and so forth

    Here’s the pattern.
    String # =Open, Fret#
    6=0,3
    5=0,2
    4=0,2
    3=0,2
    2=0,3
    1=0,3

    these scales are eventually used for solos if you can play them fast enough and turn around licks between riffs. there are many variations most commonly used one is the blues scale

    These are used to flex your fingers while playing a solo. They will enable your finger to be sharp, and more accurate while bending the string on your fret.

    im a beginner but i dont play with a pick. how do you pick up and down with your thumb? all i can do is go down!
