    Satriani is a good example of a predominantly rock/blues player who used the dimished scale on more than one occasion in a non Jazz context

    yeah thats weird, so far i only see jeff loomis use it alot, but its my favorite scale, i over use it if anything, and i am a metal guitar player, but there are other metal players that use the diminished scale
