Both are important but I would say whats most important to playing at fast speeds is economy of movement. Make sure all the movements of your hands are as small as possible. m/
Is finger “strength” really essential or is really the angle of your fingers that makes playing fast easy?
I’ve been playing guitar for just a few months now, but I played bass for several years before that. I’m having a problem with my left hand now because with bass, my fingers didn’t need to be perfectly perpendicular to the string because the strings were spaced out much more. Now with guitar I need to do this or I end up making contact with other strings. I know I can tediously just practice it and pay attention to it to improve, but do you have any more specific tips that might help? Thanks.

What about shifting your hole hand between frets, like from the first fret to second, from frist to third, to fifth/sitxh/ seventh and so on…Do you lift up your fingers and thumb of the fretboard/neck, and press it down again in the next position?
Because when I do that I always hear a dead sound in between instead of a nice fluid sound, like you cant hear that you are shifting. Does it have anything to do with synchronisation? like push down relax your hand, shift and press down again
You say to have your left hand curved but how do you mute the other notes if you are doing single notes and they are curved?
I’m having problem using my pinky while doing some fingering techniques because I’m basically using 3 of my other fingers which sometime makes it harder to play wider scale. Could u suggest any fingering exercise? or any technique to improve my fingering?

It’s difficult for me to diagnose technique issues without being able to see them. Warm up well. Don’t overdo it. Don’t play in pain. If it’s starting to hurt take a break and come back to it later. If you keep having problems my advice would be to go to a teacher that can see what you are doing. Hope that helps. m/
If I try, as you said, to make the last joint of the finger drop directly on the string, it makes a pretty big tension in my wrist and hurts after a bit.Do you have any advices for that ?
3:22 I simply can’t do that. Same with the thumb.. I see most classical fingerstyle guitar players bending their right-hand thumb like crazy all the time. Only broken knuckles would help I guess, lol!

that’s what i did.
the hardest solo i could play was guns n roses sweet child of mine and i jumped to malmsteen’s arpeggios from hell.took me 3 months to learn and 6 months to clean it up. it’s the fastest way if you ask me

Question! In your part 1 video, you mentioned about the thumb being pointed straight up in the air. Is it alright if not all of the pad of my thumb is on the neck? The best description is that it slightly rolls to the left so that a majority of the left side of the pad is on the neck.
